The long night dragged on.
It was quiet around the Grand Waves Villa area. Inside the warm Maple Residence, Xi Xiaye came out of the bathroom after taking a shower. She saw the man sitting in the living room watching TV while drinking some tea.
“What are you watching?”
She sat down beside him as he poured her a cup of tea and handed her the remote control. “Nothing really interesting.”
“Caitlyn’s new movie is pretty impressive. I heard it did very well at the box office. Want to take a look?” Xi Xiaye then searched for the movie.
“Li Si cleared out West Park. You didn’t really talk to me about it the whole night. Don’t you have anything to say?” Mu Yuchen sipped some tea, then he put his cup down and glanced over at her. His eyes were looking right at her adorable little face.
She looked down at her cup and toyed with it for a little while before letting out a sigh. Turning to face him, she said, “I’ve seen the news. I didn’t know things would escalate this way. Many people say that we’re…”
“Just let them be. People have freedom of speech. We can’t just block their mouths, can we? You worry too much, always being too considerate about everything. That’s why you’re always so restricted.” He put his arm over her shoulder as his tone sounded a little helpless. “Do you think I’m wrong?”
She shook her head and took a deep breath before pursing her lips. “I just feel that compared to your decisiveness, I’m just very inferior. I can only regain a little bit of confidence whenever you stand up to them for my sake.”
