Then, she lowered her head and covered her pale face in her hands again. She was so hurt. All of her grievances and unbearable past being completely exposed in the open was something hard for her to accept.
“That’s just them being stupid and not knowing right from wrong. You didn’t even seduce me. What would that man have to make you think so highly of him? Who brought this up tonight?” He still could not hold back his anger.
She sniffed and looked up at him with her red eyes, not saying anything.
“Was it that Xi Xinyi again, or that stepmother of yours?”
