Rose’s lips were on him again—fast, urgent, hungrier than before.
Her body moved into his lap without hesitation, her knees bracing firmly on either side of his thighs, anchoring herself to him. The tattered remnants of her clothing clung to her curves, soaked in dried blood and sweat, threads sticking to her like a second skin. But neither of them cared anymore. There was no shame, no modesty—just raw proximity, heat, and the tension that had been simmering between them since the moment they met.
Corven grunted softly, his breath catching in surprise at the suddenness of it all—but he didn’t push her away.

Rose seemed to understand.
Her weight settled across his lap, grounding him, but she didn’t grind forward like he half-expected. She simply pressed close, chest flush to his, her forehead resting against his briefly—just long enough to share the heat of her skin. Then her lips began to move slowly, deliberately, leaving a trail of kisses along his jaw. Each brush of her mouth was like a spark, igniting something deeper than lust.
