Yamamoto instantly held her breath... Sarah’s tone left no room for argument. She looked away, gave a single nod, and kept quiet. There was nothing else she could do...
Leo, crouched awkwardly and was peeping through the small gap in the department zone doors, froze mid-stream... His eyes widened as he watched Sarah shut Yamamoto down without blinking... He had never seen her like that before... so calm, so direct, so... intimidating...
With a single graceful bow to everyone in the room, Sarah turned without a word, her footsteps echoing as she walked slowly toward the exit doors."
He quickly finished up and backed away from the door. "Damn," he muttered under his breath. To be honest, even he was a little scared...
She opened the door and stepped out of the department zone...
"Babe," she said as she rushed into Leo’s arms, hugging him tightly. "That was so scary," she sighed. "Everyone was looking at me... all their attention was on me. It felt so uncomfortable."
Leo held her in his arms without saying a word, his arms wrapping around her hips protectively... He could still feel the tension in her body, the way her fingers clutched the back of his shirt and she didn’t want to let go...
She leaned in closer to his chest, wrapping her arm around his neck...
"But I’m glad the misunderstanding is finally cleared up," she whispered while hugging him tighter...
Leo leaned over, resting his chin gently on her head, taking a quiet breath...
She didn’t have to say much; he already knew how much it had shaken her... And for a brief and sincere moment, all the noises around them faded...
"Babe, I’m really proud of you," she murmured, lifting her head from his chest. Her eyes shimmered, soft with love and on the verge of tears, as she looked up at him. "I love you..."
