Chapter 3: I couldn’t read between the lines. ◉‿◉
"Babe...wake up!" Sarah’s voice cut through Leo’s sleep. "It’s time for work...you’re going to be late!"
"What...work...?" Leo mumbled, his arm instinctively reaching out to drag her back into the warmth of the bed...
She resisted him, a playful struggle. "Baka, let go!" She playfully knocked his head. "You’re going to be late for your shift!"
That word, "late," jolted...Leo awake with a sudden energy... He sprang up, his eyes still red-rimmed from the night’s deep sleep...
Looking around the room as if he’d forgotten where he was... He realized he must have fallen asleep watching TV.
Sarah chuckled playfully at his sudden panic and walked over to the kitchen area of his one-bedroom apartment... The morning sunshine poured through the glass windows, painting bright rectangles on the floor of the room... Outside, he could hear the gentle rustling of leaves on the nearby trees...and the distant chirping of birds...
She began making his breakfast, the soft clinking of pans a comforting sound to his ears...
Leo rubbed the sleep from his eyes before finally pushing himself off the bed...
He walked into the kitchen, the inviting aroma of coffee mingling with the sweet scent of pancake batter already filling the atmosphere...
Sarah was humming off-key, standing by the electric cooker with a spoon in her hands, expertly flipping what looked like a perfectly golden-brown pancake. Her back was to him, and he noticed how his oversized t-shirt draped loosely over her body...just hinting at the curve of her lower hips...
As he watched her, Leo felt a familiar stir, a powerful erection...
"Morning, babe," he responded, leaning against the fridge, a small smile playing on his lips and his voice a little deeper than usual...
