Chapter 252: The Cold Royal Decree
Imperial Palace Prison Cell
"Royal Steward Clark!" Upon spotting Clark's appearance in the prison cell, the nearby imperial guards promptly greeted him.
What Clark represented was not a steward status, but that of the Emperor Aldros.
In other words, they were respectful to Clark only because of the person behind him.
Clark also understood this concept very well. His life and death were all dependent on the Emperor, which was why he couldn't help but become furious when some ants threatened his safety.
"Bring me to General Henry and his direct lineage. His Majesty has given me a voice decree to relay." He turned to the guard and spoke in a very imposing manner.
Sure enough, when the imperial guards heard it was the voice decree of the emperor, their eyes widened slightly.
It was rare for a voice decree to be relayed in the prison cell when it was usually a summons to the main hall for interrogation.
"Yes, Royal Steward Clark." The imperial guard no longer hesitated and promptly guided Clark to the interior.
The interior was chilly and lightly dimmed. The whole atmosphere just screamed horror and nightmare.
As Clark proceeded to follow the guard, multiple shouts could be heard from his position.
"Look at the great mess you've made!"
"Because of you, our whole family is doomed!"
"Why is your brain so dumb? I've told you to never involve yourself in the political war between the princes. Why did you jump in as the spearhead?"
"Shut up, the Second Prince will definitely save us." Amidst the yelling and blaming, General Henry finally lost his cool and lashed out.
"What a ridiculous way of thinking." Before General Henry's family could respond, Clark appeared in front of the cell and snickered.
"What does this incident have to do with the Second Prince?" His tone lowered, his eyes brimmed with killing intent. The situation had already escalated to a large degree. If General Henry dared to drag Second Prince Derrick as well, then Clark was afraid of the consequences.
Henry's pupils constricted when he realized who the speaker was. He quickly went on his knees and pleaded.
"Royal Steward Clark, please let me meet His Majesty."
Clark started laughing hysterically when he heard his pleas.
Meet His Majesty?
Was this really a general under the Aldros Empire?
But then again, only a fool like him was suitable to be a general. Proficient in war but dumb in everything else.
After all, a clever and competent general could easily rebel if they desire the throne or more power.
Clark cleared his throat and held a solemn expression.
"From His Majesty's voice decree! General Henry, come and receive the decree!" He declared.
"General Henry received the voice decree." General Henry soon lowered his head, followed by his direct lineage, who had to kneel down and listen.
Those who refused to receive the voice decree properly could easily be implicated as disrespecting His Majesty.
Their family was already on the brink of destruction.
It only takes one little mistake to condemn them to a place where they can no longer come back and rise up.
Alas, when Clark started announcing the voice decree, all their dreams and hopes were wiped out.
"By order of His Majesty! General Henry's gross misuse of his position and authority nearly caused a continental war by being disrespectful to the Xundraeth's Princess, alongside humiliating the Crown Prince of Aldros. The judgment hereby declares General Henry and his lineage to be executed publicly as a warning to all!"
Clark's eyes gradually turned cold once he finished reciting the voice decree.
In the meantime, General Henry and his family were in utter disbelief. Their faces had turned ghastly pale, and not a single word was able to be released from their mouths.
There was no point in wailing or struggling. The royal voice decree had made it clear that their fate was over.
Clark didn't even care whether General Henry followed the formality to receive the decree or not.
He turned to the guards and warned sternly, "Make sure to do it quickly. His Majesty is in a foul mood."
"Yes, Royal Steward." The guards hurriedly bowed and graciously accepted the warning. What Clark did was help them escape possible repercussions from the emperor for their slow actions.
"Drag these people to the public execution ground! Post a notice to ensure the citizens know of their crime!" The guard with the highest authority in the prison cell exclaimed loudly. They didn't dare to have any mishap now that the emperor had personally made such a decree.
While the Imperial Guards busied themselves with this, Clark had promptly arrived at another detainment room.
Needless to say, the treatment and atmosphere here were a far cry from the previous prison cell.
In here, Instructor Norman was placed in a comfortable seat as he tended to his injured son, Jasper.
"Instructor Norman." Clark greeted in a mild tone.
"I greet the Royal Steward." Norman swiftly placed down the medicine, stood up, and turned to face Clark. Not a trace of fear or worry could be seen in his face, almost as if he expected His Majesty wouldn't punish him.
"No need for greeting, Instructor Norman. His Majesty has decreed that the Crown Prince of Aldros will be in charge of you. Do make haste to the Crown Prince's Palace." Clark said in a heartbeat.
"The Crown Prince's Palace?" Norman's pupils constricted slightly. The thought of being sent to the Crown Prince had never crossed his mind.
'What does His Majesty mean by this?' Confused, his eyes shifted to the windows, seemingly trying to perceive the location of Leonard's Palace.

Leonard's Palace
"We welcome the return of the Crown Prince and the Xundraeth's Princess!" A group of servants lined up formally and bowed in utmost respect as they greeted Leonard and Eleanor.
"Wow, you sure know how to make a fancy welcome." Eleanor clapped her hands and praised him.
"Don't praise me." Leonard coolly said. "This is probably Spence's work. Too extravagant and flashy for no reason."
