Chapter 243: Too Noisy
"This food isn't bad." Eleanor smiled softly after having a bite fed by Leonard.
"Isn't bad?" Leonard raised an eyebrow. He took a bite of the food as well.
"I suppose it's not bad." He commented. They were currently at a popular food stall after touring for a long time on the main street.
Although he suggested bringing her to the Imperial Palace to dine, she wanted to try out the food stall.
"The food will taste better if you feed it to me, mouth to mouth." Eleanor suddenly teased.
"Don't play with fire." Leonard leaned closer and warned.
"I'm blind. I can't really see the fire well. Why don't you burn me directly?" She leaned closer as well.
The two of them were currently in close proximity; both could feel each other's breath.
And once again, Leonard was defeated. He thought that by switching his tactic, he would catch her off guard. Unfortunately, she seemed to be a very adaptive person.
"Hmm, are you not feeding me mouth-to-mouth?" She asked and opened her mouth slightly. The angle at which she opened was only visible to Leonard.
Nevertheless, the volume at which she spoke was quite audible for the nearby crowd to hear.
It was also at this moment that a group of people arrived and started making sarcastic remarks.
"Public display of affection from a blind and crippled woman. Now that's something you don't see every day."
"I know, right. The woman sure has a lot of courage."
"Ahem, don't be too rude, guys. She might be crippled and blind, but from her figure, she should be quite the beauty. I bet the man enjoyed doing all the work."
"Well, who knows? The man doesn't even look well-built physically. He might even struggle to carry the crippled to bed."
Behind the blindfold, Eleanor's eyes were narrowed. She didn't care about the insult directed at her. But when the last person mentioned Leonard, that was where they had crossed the line.
She was just about to snap until Leonard beat her to the punch.
"Whether I'm displaying affection or not, does that have anything to do with you?" He stood up and questioned coldly.
"Oh, look, he's mad!" Unfazed by Leonard's cold tone, the man placed their hands by their hips. "What are you going to do about it?"
"You are quite the arrogant person I've ever met," Leonard commented.
Since his time in this world, this man was definitely the most arrogant and foolish person he had encountered. Not even his other brothers would dare to be so outspoken without checking the situation first.
While Leonard was prepared to do some face-slapping, in the back, Alfred and Curtis were ready to jump into action.
However, Eleanor subtly gestured her hand to order them to stand down.
'Don't you dare steal Leon's spotlight.' She refused to let other people disturb Leonard's moment in defending her.
When Alfred and Curtis saw the gesture, the two glanced at each other in bitterness.
"If the Crown Prince is harmed in any way, I'll be punished." Curtis tried to persuade Alfred that this was a risky situation. This was the capital and not Velastra anymore. His mentor would personally torture him.
"Please be reassured. Our Miss wouldn't let anything happen to the Crown Prince." Alfred consoled him calmly.
Others would be sorely mistaken if they think Eleanor was some weak woman who only got brains.
Moreover, throughout the interactions, Alfred was positive of one thing: her Miss was into the Crown Prince.
It wasn't some kind of scheme or ploy, but a genuine romantic interest.
Still, it was rather confusing for Alfred.
'Just when did the Miss meet with the Crown Prince?' This question remained a mystery for him, even though there was a time period when he was deployed to another region and left the Miss temporarily. It wasn't very long, only 1 week.
While Alfred remained confused by this matter, the situation began to escalate on Leonard's side.
"You want to protect your blind and crippled woman? Do you even know who you're talking to?" One of the lackeys stepped forward and snorted.
They then proceeded to introduce their leader with extreme pride.
"This person here is Jasper, son of Instructor Eugene in the Aldros Imperial Academy. Do you believe it or not that his words could get you expelled from the academy?" The lackey threatened coldly.
With the new semester of the Aldros Imperial Academy fast approaching, there had been many people rushing to the capital to attend.
And rumors had it that this semester was entirely different than the past.
In this semester, the number of poor or low-class students was admitted, which naturally caused much displeasure among those in the higher class.
As such, it became a common occurrence for lower-class students to be targeted by the higher-class students.
The semester had not yet started, so the new policy of equality hadn't been officially promoted or announced publicly.
However, Jasper, being the son of an instructor inside the academy, was naturally informed of the news. Needless to say, he was extremely disgusted to be sharing the same classroom with lowly beings.
Through some coincidences, he was also informed that there was even a crippled trying to attend the academy, staining its prestige in this area.
'Hmph, a bunch of lowlives.' Jasper sneered inwardly as he glared at Leonard with a cold gaze. As for the woman next to him, he decided to snatch her over and play with her for a while.
Even though she was crippled and blind, the figure was still good enough.
Just when Jasper was leering at Eleanor's figure, he failed to notice an incoming mana shot.
"Watch out, Jasper!" Jasper's lackeys hurriedly shouted in a panic.
Alas, it was a little bit too late. Jasper failed to react in time, but the magic shield enclosed in his pendant automatically activated.
BANG!
Unfortunately, the magic shield shattered like fragile glass. The mana shot penetrated through the shield and burst forward.
"You—" Jasper's eyes widened in disbelief. He pointed at Leonard shakily as his chest began to bleed.
"Too noisy," Leonard muttered. Those who talk a lot of gibberish tend to die first or faster.
