Chapter Three Hundred-Twenty – Protecting
Stefan had to be sure his younger brother had passed Damancas before returning to High Mountains by foot.
Since the threat had been spread widely by Lunaria, he worried that Damancas might pick action and attack the next lycan they find. He couldn’t risk that.
While walking back, he paused in front of the forest. He had promised to handle the issues that’d arise at High Mountains but his plans were only external issues.
The blond Elder would the affairs like usual while he’d have an overdue rest from all pack affairs. He strolled into the forest. It might just be a small rogue problem.
However the deeper he got into the forest, the less he thought so due to the suffocating presence in the forest. It was still morning but a particular place looked dark.
"So a new threat came close?" he looked for paw prints on the ground to give him an idea of how big it was.
The paws he saw were regular wolves paws and he found sandals marks that must’ve come from the young girls.
He looked around and found a small stream besides the area that looked dark, like the sun didn’t rise there.
From the looks of it, it seemed the girls had tried going close to the river and the wolves had chased them away, and attacked them.
The wolves stopped chasing when the girls were a good distance away from the stream. They weren’t just rogues, they were protecting something.
This piqued Stefan’s interest, he could sense the wolves as he took steps towards the stream. They came forward, not showing any hesitation to confront an Alpha.
