Chapter 263: The Young Genius
Chapter Two Hundred-Sixty-Three – The Young Genius
Thales snapped from his thoughts when his back was forced to a hard surface and Zara’s arm slammed on the wall by his side.
His breathing hitched as she leaned over him, peering into his eyes. "I asked you a question, Thales."
At that point, he took notice of her clothes. That skimpy attire those traveling dancers wore? The small red linen pants and tight top, with a silver rope of bells.
It caused a knot to tie in his stomach when he saw how fitting they were on her. He dragged his eyes to her face. "I trust you but I also need to do something."
"Something more importantly than us, me, this place?"
She made things harder, but that’s what he’d expect from his Master’s demanding daughter. He forced himself to nod so she’d understand. "It’s truly important."
Zara’s eyes widened, then reduced to a slant. She left him, folding her arms and turning away.
Thales would’ve preferred being in that position for longer but brushed the thought away. "The charms I gave you will always be effective."
"It’s you I want, not the charms." Zara huffed.
Thales rubbed his face from heating up and blowing up. He knew his Lady didn’t mean it in a romantic way.
She used simple and direct words to convey romance and would be open if she meant it that way, also she sometimes used romantic gestures for platonic situations.
