Chapter 122: Elder

Chapter Hundred-Twenty-Two – Elder

Laurel took a step back. How unlucky could she get? She spun around and faced the door. Even being in the elder’s presence nauseated her.

"I’d never forget how you beat me up while blaming me for the fall of our empire. Now, I’m going to be it’s rise, I don’t need to see your worthlessness face again!"

"What?!" the elder left his seat, pointing his cane at her. "I’ve lived for more than a hundred years and I can tell that this expire will fall again in—"

Laurel heard a metallic object collide with something. She turned around an found Elder Kuso on the ground nearly passed out. The older woman sat on top of him.

"Don’t speak that way to a princess, you foul mouth!" she left him on the ground and smiled. "Don’t mind my husband, Princess. He’s a big coward."

Laurel straightened up. "Uh... yeah... I mean," she looked at the elder’s condition. His wife really did a number on him.

"Oh my!" the woman came close to the twins. "It’s been a while I’ve seen these two outside. And they’re looking thin again. You wouldn’t mind them eating here—"

"I respectfully decline!" Laurel bowed. She didn’t know the woman enough to put the twins’ life in the line. Also, her husband was elder Kuso. It said a lot about her taste.

"I actually wanted to know where the grand hall’s key is. We’d be having change of elders soon." She said that looking at elder Kuso.

His eyes returned to their normal position and he sprang up to his feet like an agile peacock. "Change elders?! You must be crazy little girl!"

"You’d be stunned to know that I’m not! You don’t benefit us anymore. Actually," she faced the woman. "I’ve seen great understanding in madam over here."
