Chapter Hundred-Ten – Her punishment
That one had stayed too long in there.
Laurel paced around Sorren’s yard. He acted like he wanted to speak to her but then went to his room.
Could it be...?
Bebe opened the door quietly, she ran to Laurel, looking amused. "Princess, Master Sorren is fast asleep."
Her fist clenched and a low hiss left Laurel’s lips. It made Bebe laugh loudly, holding unto the princess.
"Just as I thought. That little..." Even if his body was tired from the long journey, he didn’t need to leave her waiting. She still needed to check on the maids and Jessika.
"Take care then." She told Bebe. "I’d come back later."
The maid quarters had an eerie silence to it. Laurel braced her heart for the worst. Elma came to the surface as they walked into the quarters. No guards in front.
The quarters had no one moving inside. Laurel could feel they were hurdled inside their rooms. Did the recent tragedy affect them that much?
She exhaled, going towards her room. She realized she didn’t have the keys so turned back to the girls’ rooms. They all needed time out but she needed rest too.
"Valkyrie?" she knocked on her door. "Valk—"
