Chapter Fifty-Six – Her Father
It worried Laurel, that maybe she had been too harsh on Valkyrie. It was her mate she was avenging, after all. Any werewolf would feel her annoyance.
"But you haven’t tried killing Stefan for all the things he’d done to you, why should she put someone in trouble because of her mate?" Elma tsked.
"That isn’t the point, you know." Laurel sighed. "Stefan is my mate in this instance, how do you think I’d avenge against him?" Her wolf stayed quiet.
Laurel sighted Jessika running towards her. The cook always looked left, right, back and upwards when moving, all in bid to make sure Beta Cade wasn’t close.
She groaned when she finally reached Laurel. "Ah, your highness, I don’t really think I can keep this up. My heart feels like bursting whenever I hear a footstep."
There was no reaction from Laurel. Jessika waved in front of her face, bringing her back to reality. "You aren’t still daydreaming about meeting your mate here, are you?"
That was far from her thoughts. Laurel smiled. "Just thinking of when I’d finally be able to travel out of these lands. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while."
No part of her had been outside Green Valleys Kingdom, not even her belongings, except the imported ones.
The thoughts she’d harbored for long, even added the possibility that her mate would be the one to save her from her sad life, to travel the world with her.
But not only did her mate not save her, but he trapped her within the confinements of a prison, and later, a maid quarters.
"Jessika, do you have any idea how can I fake my death then escape here? Maybe leave to Darren’s...?"
