Chapter Thirty-One – Mom-Mode
Back to the lonely days of watching the sun rise and fall.
It was lonely but still had a beauty to it. Laurel stretched, rising from the bed.
A sharp pain went to her head and she groaned. "Ah, Darren. This plan was a little too much. The poison effect is still there a day later."
She looked outside the window, waiting. When will she be transferred to the maid’s quarters? Her brunch hadn’t arrived either. "When I remember that we’d actually meet Frida there, I’m more excited about moving." Elma remarked.
Laurel could feel the wolf’s excitement even if she wasn’t too excited herself. She’d probably prefer if Frida minded her own business and not push her to the edge.
The fact Sorren transferred her to the maid quarters and not outrightly killing her would displease Beta Cade and Jade who would keep their eyes on her.
At the maid quarters, she’d be safe but if they find out the maids don’t like her, they could use her haters against her.
"I guess I have to make friends with some maids. I believe I know some names. If they were still alive." Laurel said.
Lena was omega ranked and omega ranked worked as maids in the palace or an officials quarters. Lena always mentioned every new friend she made to Laurel who never had such experience of making new friends.
"I think Bella, Vista, Sunlight and Sunshine, and Lia...? I’m not very sure of these names." Laurel sighed.
The door to her prison opened and she sat up expectantly. That had taken long enough. "Huh, Dylan? Long time no see." She said disappointedly. He didn’t even have her brunch with him.
