Chapter 40: RICHARD
For those of you who guessed ’kissing’ as the one thing I never thought I would do to Sofia Blake.
Well, you are wrong. Yes, it was tempting as fuck. Her breath smelled of chocolate and with our proximity, her honey scented hair, the smell I mean, hung thickly over my nostrils.
I once said that her lips were kissable and in that heated moment, they couldn’t have been more alluring. For someone who was pissed at me, I think she wanted me to kiss her.
If not then why was she wetting her lips? Isn’t that an obvious sign that she wanted our lips to merge and devour?
I should have known, for someone so irritatingly stubborn and annoyingly getting at my nerves, she was just like
the others.
Like them, she wasn’t immune to my charm. She wanted a piece of my irresistible self. And to prove it, I moved closer in an attempt to kiss her and to my utmost surprise, she withdrew, turning her face away from me.
But it was evident in her reddened cheeks, she had wanted it, but as prideful as she was, she would never admit it.
"Imagine," she said, still looking away from me, "the same person you couldn’t stand, you just tried to kiss. What’s even wrong with you?"
Rising and walking away from her, I scoffed,
"Oh get over yourself, I was never going to kiss you, I rather kiss a frog than allow my lips touch yours. I did that to see if my basic looks like you said, had any effect on you. And had you not withdrew, I would have taunted you of being just like the others, irresistible to my ’basic charm’. But that doesn’t mean that you didn’t want it, be honest with yourself, you had imagined it, you had wanted it, but your pride held more sway. Don’t even try to deny it, your cheeks tell me all I need to know"
Instinctively, her hands flew to her cheeks as if she wanted to cover the blush that colored them.
