Chapter 616: New Mandate of the Richter Kingdom (1)
Although Matthew was not a fan of going out to explain himself after doing something, this time he would do so because it would represent the future image of one of his women.
"As many of you know and many others will suspect, I am the one behind what has recently happened in the Kingdom of Richter. I know that many of you have extensive questions for me, I will answer your doubts."
He waved his hand, and a few strange objects and beasts fell to the ground, along with some cursed daggers and other things that were found in the different churches.
"Why did I decide to attack the Kingdom of Richter and cause such a great massacre? It is the question most often heard in the streets. Some believe it is because of ego or arrogance; they believe I felt superior to the Kingdom and therefore attacked them. All these conjectures miss the mark," he asserted.
"If you look in your memories for a bit of the past, you will surely remember that Miss Sophia Murphy and I firmly declared that we were against all traitors to the race and would hunt them down until they were exterminated. Just as I exterminated the traitors in the City of the Clans and throughout the Dark Kingdom, I decided to move to exterminate those in this kingdom."
"Now, it was not without reason that I gave them opportunities to redeem themselves."
Matthew immediately produced several documents that proved what he was saying. Some bore the Allen family seal, mentioning some deals that were done under the table, and others bore the seal of King Richter.
"As you can see, I was the target of continuous attacks and all those close to me suffered at the hands of the armed forces of the Kingdom of Richter, even going so far as to hire assassins to kill my wives. Seeing that they did not want to redeem themselves and that, instead, they were provoking me, I decided to make good my words and eradicate them."
"When I arrived here, I realized that this place was completely full of traitors or innocent people who had been deceived. Although we tried to save many of them, in the end, they all fell for a curse, which I’m sure many of you will recognize."
He raised one of the daggers in his hand and showed it.
"It is enough that we call them Cursed Daggers. They are the supposed power that this new religion grants you, so that you can defend yourselves. Surely some of you still have some of these. Let me tell you that, once the dagger sees that you are in mortal danger from which you cannot escape, it will explode and kill you. In addition, all your power will go to one of those old farts who are their leaders."
"Just as you hear it. All of you, once you accept this curse on your bodies, are doomed to become the power of your leaders. I know it’s hard to believe, but it’s easy to show you what I mean."
While he was talking, a few people brought in a man in chains. He roared with rage when he saw Matthew.
"You fucking bastard!" And he tried to move, but the chains prevented him. Finally, he fell, rolling on the floor.
"Watch this carefully. You won’t see it every day," said Matthew to all the spectators, who were in shock.
Suddenly, four walls of transparent ice rose around the chained man. This was seen as an attack, so the dagger suddenly floated up above his head, and he tried to manipulate it to attack. But then three ice stakes came down from above and were driven into his body with ferocity.
"Cuagh!" A stream of blood spurted from his body, but he was not dead. The stakes were not intended to kill him, but to put him at risk of death.
And being so close to death, the dagger above his head immediately entered his body and, in the blink of an eye, and without the man being able to calm down, an explosion occurred from the center of his body and destroyed him.
But, at that very moment, Matthew acted quickly and created a block of ice around the body, which made the explosion go unnoticed. Moreover, this block suddenly became smaller and smaller.
The blood and remains of the body somehow seeped through the block, but there was something inside it—a piece of metal stirring with some strange red energy.
"That metal in pieces is the dagger. That red energy you see is the one that, when I allow it to be free, will fly through dimensions to reach its destination body, by means of a spiritual thread you cannot see." After saying and demonstrating this, Matthew destroyed the block of ice, and exactly what he had said happened.
The red energy disappeared.
"All traitors will end up like this, and it’s not even my fault, it’s your fault, and because of your leaders, whom you decided to believe in." He smiled at the end of his words. "Although if you are strong or talented enough, you may end up differently," he said and turned to grab the strange, beastly body that was there.
"This is another consequence of accepting that dagger in your bodies. You can be turned into terrifying beasts that lose all conscience and only want to kill anyone who crosses your path, regardless of whether they are allies or enemies. But you won’t live like beasts, don’t worry. You will die in a few hours, and, in the same way, all your power will go to your leader."
Although his words were confusing to many civilians, they had a clear message that made many tremble: If you betray me, I will probably exterminate you. But if I don’t do it, someone else will—for example, you or your leader.
The terror of those words and the examples he was showing them made all those who had that dagger in their bodies tremble. For the first time, they felt sorry for having it and wanted to get it out of them.
Because all of this... Put their lives and those of their wives, husbands, or children at risk.
It was a terror that rose up over the population, but that was just the beginning.
Matthew would strike when the metal was hard. He still had more things to say about this, and little by little, he told them.
