Chapter 936: So I’m a Tycoon?
Staring at the ring on his hand, Tang San could hardly believe it. If this many amethystine coins were released all at once, wouldn’t they cause massive deflation?
“Clan Leader, there’s no need for you to hold back,” the Grand Elder said earnestly. “Our Blue Gold Tree clan has little use for money. But you... You’re an unprecedented existence in our clan’s history. If we can help you obtain a place among the Emperors just by buying a couple of divine artifacts, then even if we spend everything, it will be worth it. Completely worth it. As for Blue Gold Fruits, since you’ve asked, we’ve brought about a thousand of them with us. I’ve asked the others to sort and prepare them for delivery to you.”
Tang San looked at the Grand Elder, his mouth twitching slightly. He even suspected that if they handed all this wealth to the Ancestral Court directly, they could probably outright buy an Emperor’s seat and be done with all the tournament bullshit. He was certain that even among all the living Emperors, none had ever seen this many amethystine coins in one place, much less owned them.
The fake leader of the Blue Gold Tree clan had somehow become... a tycoon.
Though he was confident in his strength, this marriage tournament was no joke. It was essentially a war for imperial succession involving all the strongest eleventh-tier powerhouses of the Daemon Continent. Everyone would be risking their lives, and though he easily had the strength to win, he couldn’t guarantee there would be no mishaps and he wouldn’t be forced to reveal something he shouldn’t. Now, with so much financial support, he figured that he could solve the problem in the most simple way: by throwing money at it. With this fortune, he had a solid chance of pulling his plan off smoothly.
As for Jin Miaosen, that naïve little sister of his clearly had no idea the clan was sitting on such a massive hoard. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have gone out trying to peddle Blue Gold Fruits on the street. The elders who had “agreed” with her that they had to sell everything were probably laughing their bark off.
She truly was clueless about the world, but the Blue Gold Tree clan itself was anything but foolish. With a lineage so ancient, they were bound to have their share of shrewd minds. Even if they weren’t warriors, their talent for hoarding money was nothing short of titanic.
It made sense. The Blue Gold Tree clan essentially controlled one of the most precious and exclusive resources on the entire continent: life itself. If they couldn’t make a fortune, who could? While they lacked combat strength, they had the Ancestral Tree guarding their city. That was the ultimate trump card. Tang San now wondered if the real reason they never left the inner city of Skytree wasn’t self-preservation, but rather that they were sitting on too much wealth to risk losing it.
He realized now he’d seriously underestimated the Blue Gold Tree clan. Their financial reserves warranted a whole new level of respect.
