Chapter 292: THE SUNSET IS BEAUTIFUL, ISN’ IT?
"She Just woke up," Zoey said. Her eyes and nose had turned red because she cried so much. "She looks so weak." Her voice was trembling.
"She will be fine," Draven said. He hugged Zoey when she started sobbing, as she closed the door behind her, so her mother wouldn’t see her crumbling like this.
She had been trying to be tough in front of Zia, but obviously, the sadness was too much for her to hide.
"It’s okay, she will be fine." Draven patted her back, he stayed like that for a while, until Zoey could regain her composure.
"Happy birthday, Daddy." Zoey wiped her tears. She lifted her head and stared at her father, who didn’t age at all.
"Thank you, love."
Right now, he looked like her older brother instead.
Even though it had been twenty five years, since the first memory of their family tradition that Zoey could remember, her father didn’t become old. He stayed like this, as if time stopped for him.
This was the first time they didn’t celebrate Draven’s birthday by going picnic up to the hill, since Zia had been sick for the last six months. She grew old and tired.
No matter what her father said, Zoey was no longer a little girl, who didn’t know the truth. She knew it was only a matter of time...
"I am okay now," Zoey said, wiping her tears. "Mother is looking for you."
