Chapter 269: THE SECRET MEETING
Rhett managed to survive the massacre that happened in the Great Palace when Khaos learned that Zuri might not survive the completion of the beauty blood. He was not here during that bloody event.
And for Declan, he was still alive because Khaos wanted more from him. He wanted him to be alive. He wanted to torture him more. He was going to keep him alive as long as possible because death was a mercy, while life was a torture and that was what Declan had given Zuri for the last few years of her life.
If Khaos was willing to avenge his family, his whole race and the people that he had never met before, then he would do even more for his mate. That was why Declan managed to survive the torture, unfortunately.
Right now, Rhett and Declan were escaping the Great Palace with the help of a few warriors.
The warriors had been very restless for months, since the lycan didn’t do anything when Zuri killed them one by one.
If they stayed, they would be killed for nothing. It was different if you died in a battle than died stupidly because there was this unhinged woman, who wanted to fulfill her desire of violence.
They didn’t put their loyalty on Zuri and based on that, they were not willing to die for her, especially just to fulfill her craziness.
"What are we going to do now? Have you prepared everything that I have told you?" Declan asked Rhett.
He had planned this in his mind ever since he saw how attached Khaos was with Zuri. Somehow, he knew that the lycan would do everything for his mate. He would even abandon their life long plan and goal. This was not how thing should end.
