Chapter 1665 - 1659: Explaining the Situation
"Aunt Zhang, you’re from Fuling Village too! That’s great!"
Chen Yang looked slightly excited.
Aunt Zhang was bewildered.
"Yang Zi, what’s going on? Why are you asking about this? What’s up with Fuling Village?"
"It’s nothing, Aunt Zhang! I just need your help with something!" Chen Yang calmed himself down a bit and seriously said to Aunt Zhang, "Aunt Zhang, could you help contact all the aunts from Fuling Village near our village to come to the village office? I have something important I need your help with."
Aunt Zhang was still puzzled, not understanding what Chen Yang was trying to do.
"Yang Zi, what are you up to?"
"Aunt Zhang, don’t ask. I’ll explain everything together later, just help gather everyone for me first." Chen Yang said.
"Oh, okay, I’ll help once I finish eating. There are quite a few folks from Fuling Village." Aunt Zhang saw Chen Yang’s serious expression and didn’t ask further.
She quickly nodded and agreed.
"Thanks, Aunt Zhang." Chen Yang thanked her with a smile.
Aunt Zhang promptly rolled her eyes at him, "Why are you being so polite to me? It’s nothing special, no need to make it formal."
"Alright."
Chen Yang smiled and nodded, then left.
He had found out what he needed, so he didn’t really have to go to the village office.
But then he thought he might need Wu Kexin’s help for the town leadership connections, so he headed to the village office.
A few days ago, when the tourism business in Liuhe Village had just boomed, Wu Kexin was extremely busy.
As things settled down in recent days, she had fewer village-related tasks.
The local company leaders had their plans set, so they bothered Wu Kexin less.
Most matters could be handled internally within the company.
Chen Yang arrived at the village office while Wu Kexin was preparing to cook.
"Chen Yang, why did you come over suddenly? Have you eaten?" Wu Kexin asked with a smile.
"I came to discuss something and thought I might join you for a meal." Chen Yang smiled and walked over.
"Alright, wait a bit, we’ll talk after eating. I have something to discuss with you too." Wu Kexin said, then turned to the kitchen.
"Let me help you."
Seeing this, Chen Yang went over to assist.
With the two cooking together, they prepared a sumptuous dinner in about half an hour.
Both wiped their hands, sat down, and ate while chatting.
Chen Yang went straight to the point, mentioning his plan to cooperate with the Wang Jingman family to acquire the mine.
Wu Kexin was surprised upon hearing this, not expecting Chen Yang to work with the Wang Jingman family on a mining business.
"Chen Yang, why this sudden plan? Mining is profitable, but it’s also complicated, not easy to manage," Wu Kexin, knowing Wang Jingman well, wasn’t really worried about cooperation issues.
But she wasn’t very optimistic about this.
Chen Yang wasn’t focused on profit but the Spirit Stone beneath the coal mine.
Because of the Spirit Stone, he was determined to obtain the mineral rights.
Even if he couldn’t get it, he wouldn’t let the Gu Family have it easily.
"I have a plan. There won’t be problems. Profit isn’t the main concern, there are other factors involved." Chen Yang said.
Wu Kexin nodded slightly at Chen Yang’s words.
Though she wasn’t optimistic, she understood Chen Yang’s intention and didn’t say more.
"So, what do you need?" Wu Kexin asked with a smile.
Chen Yang also smiled hearing this.
Their understanding was so precise that Wu Kexin could sense any issue he had.
Chen Yang didn’t beat around the bush and shared his plan.
"Kexin, I need your help to see if we can navigate some connections to gain support from the neighboring town’s office. Although the Gu Family has connections, local input matters in property disputes. If the town office supports us, I’ll have better odds of securing mining rights." Chen Yang said.
Wu Kexin thought for a moment and understood Chen Yang’s point.
"I’m not sure, but I’ll call the mayor soon. If he has ties with the neighboring town’s mayor, it might not be too difficult." Wu Kexin said.
"Great, that’ll be enough. Help me inquire after eating."
Chen Yang smiled and nodded, then they focused on the meal.
After dinner, Wu Kexin went to the office to make some calls.
Chen Yang waited downstairs, and after four or five minutes, Aunt Zhang arrived with six or seven aunts, all from nearby villages.
"Yang Zi, I’ve gathered everyone. We’re all from Fuling Village."
Aunt Zhang walked into the village office courtyard with a smile and informed Chen Yang.
Chen Yang looked closely, seeing quite a few folks had married from Fuling Village.
Liuhe Village had four or five, with only one or two from Shangshan Village.
"Aunt Wang, you’re from Fuling Village too?" Chen Yang asked Wang Hong, somewhat surprised.
Life was getting better, and all these aunts were always cheerful.
"Why so surprised, Yang Zi? Your Aunt Wang is from Fuling Village." Wang Hong laughed.
"Yang Zi, we’re all from Fuling Village. What do you need help with? We’ll assist for sure."
...
The aunts were enthusiastic and, upon entering with Aunt Zhang, eagerly asked what help was needed.
"Please, sit down. I’ll explain slowly."
Seeing this, Chen Yang didn’t joke further and quickly invited the aunts to take a seat.
Then he discussed the serious matter.
He explained his plan to cooperate in Fuling Village for coal mining.
He also outlined the current situation, mentioning the Gu Family’s connections and their determination to acquire the mine, sharing all details with Aunt Zhang and Wang Hong.
As wives from nearby villages, they had great respect and admiration for Chen Yang.
After hearing Chen Yang’s narrative, many understood the situation.
"Yang Zi, I get it. You want us to go back and speak positively to create some influence, right?" Wang Hong, straightforward as ever, quickly sensed Chen Yang’s intention without him explaining further.
Chen Yang nodded seriously, "Exactly, Aunt Wang. That’s the idea. I assure you, if we partner, I won’t let Fuling Village suffer."
"Sure, Yang Zi. Don’t worry, I’ll persuade my maternal family to cooperate!" Wang Hong, a staunch supporter of Chen Yang, fully committed to supporting him.
With Wang Hong taking the lead, other aunts started to express their support too.
"Don’t worry, Yang Zi, we trust your character. We fully support your business venture."
"The Gu Family? That tricky group, right? We definitely shouldn’t partner with them. Everyone knows their nature."
...
