Chapter 751 - 749 Disturbing the Peace
Guan He laughed and said, "His surname is Zheng, and he is a friend of mine and Yuanfan’s. Old Yuan, you can just call him Xiao Zheng."
Zheng Pengfei glared at Guan He and, turning to Yuan Shang, made a bow with hands clasped and said, "Don’t listen to his nonsense. My surname is Zheng, and you can simply call me Pengfei, my friend."
Yuan Shang hurriedly returned the gesture with a bow and said, "Master Zheng is too polite. I am Yuan Shang, the steward of the Qi Family Construction Business. Just like Guan He, you can call me Old Yuan."
Guan He glanced at Official Tang, who was still hesitating between the two drawings, and interrupted the pleasantries to ask Yuan Shang, "Old Yuan, who designed these gardens? Both of these gardens look quite nice, not very big but rather exquisite."
As he spoke, his eyes scanned back and forth between the two drawings. He usually didn’t pay much attention to the extravagant luxury of wealthy homes, always looking down on those gardens that covered several or even more than ten acres. In his view, what was the use of having such a large garden? Could one even stroll through all of it?
But these two gardens seemed much more comfortable. He had suggested coming here out of boredom, since Guangsha Construction was not far away, and had brought Zheng Pengfei along to have a look. That way, if there was business in the future, Zheng Pengfei could find his way easily. Little did he know, it turned out to be the right decision, as both gardens were to his taste, especially the one with a sparse layout which looked very comfortable.
Jiang Yifan and Zheng Pengfei, hearing the rare praise Guan He had for the gardens, also came over to take a look.
Zheng Pengfei, who often scoped out the homes of wealthy patrons when short on cash, had a better understanding of rich family gardens compared to Jiang Yifan and Guan He.
He nodded in approval and praised, "These two gardens are exceptionally exquisite. With two opposing styles, each has its own merits and is far from common. Whoever created these gardens must be quite formidable."
Upon seeing three distinguished-looking men entering, among whom the slightly older one was dressed simply and looked rather ordinary but spoke with an air of extensive knowledge, Official Tang became somewhat guarded.
