Chapter 88
The cool breeze that usually blew gently had suddenly turned chill. Grayson stopped and stared intently at Dein’s back as he stood still. Taking slow steps toward him, the phone call continued as he approached. After just a few steps, he was standing behind Dein, and the voice from the phone became audible in his ears.
The voice had turned desperate, and Dein brushed his hair back, trying to recall.
"I remember."
A sigh of relief could be heard from the other end. However, Dein was secretly thinking about something else. He had always lived by the principle of not involving himself in other people’s affairs, but recently, he had been too caught up in them—whether it was the woman with whom he had only shared a single night or any other situation.
This would be the last time. I won’t do anything like this again.
He decided not to drag things out, adding quickly.
"Have you made up your mind? When are you going to do it? It would be nice if it could be on one of my days off."
At his blunt question, she hurriedly replied.
With a weak voice, Dein didn't react much and gave her the date of his day off before hanging up. He casually put his phone into his pocket and was about to take another step when he turned his head without thinking. He was startled when he saw Grayson standing right behind him.
"Ah shit, what the hell!"
