Chapter 69
Several hours ago.
From around the time he finished dinner, Dein was not feeling well. He felt warm and fatigue was washing over him, making his body increasingly heavy. Before he knew it, all he could think about was wanting to go to sleep.
It was because of the continuous tension.
He blamed all of this on Grayson Miller. If that bastard hadn’t done crazy things.
Dein sighed briefly, a thought he had mulled over numerous times revisited once more. He might even have a cold. Getting sick in this situation would be the worst. He wasn’t sure if that man could remain so calm because he wasn’t susceptible to viruses, but this could potentially be life-threatening for him.
He needed to rest and conserve his strength.
Ashley Miller probably didn’t need medicine since she didn’t get sick, but his partner would be different. He must have prepared some emergency medicine just in case. Even so, he couldn’t let on that he was weakened. He would have to sneak out and search the house again when Grayson was asleep.
It might be in the storeroom.
Deciding that, Dein got up from his seat.
“Where are you going?”
As expected, Grayson immediately questioned him. Dein looked down at him with a scowl and replied coldly.
“It’s better to go to sleep than to sit here listening to your nonsense.”
