Chapter 20
A year is definitely a short time, but sometimes it can be a very long time. Dane, who arrived at work on time, burst into laughter at the sight of Grayson and another female employee joking around in front of him.
He had already seen this exact scene over and over again. It was almost as if he had fallen into a time loop.
But of course, that couldn’t have happened. The most obvious evidence was that the other employee’s face had changed each time. This time, too, the other employee was stuck with Grayson, and his colleagues watched helplessly. Eventually, DeAndre exploded because he couldn’t stand it anymore.
“I can’t stand this.”
The men who were sitting around checking their personal equipment looked up at DeAndre, who was gasping for breath and jumping up. DeAndre pointed to one side and spat out.
“Are you guys okay? Are you just going to sit there and watch that every day?”
In the direction DeAndre pointed, Grayson Miller was flirting with a new female employee.
Grayson Miller, a large man, had one hand in his pocket, a relaxed smile on his face, and whispered something in her ear. The female employee in front of him tilted her head slightly, lightly brushing her long hair. She focused on his story with a bright smile and sparkling eyes. Her small shrug of her shoulders gave off a natural sense of friendliness. She smiled shyly and lightly brushed her arm, or twirled her hair with her fingertips, responding with interest.
The air flowing between the two seemed natural, as if they had known each other for a long time. Everyone who had turned their gazes at that sight turned their eyes back to DeAndre. Ezra looked up at him with both hands spread wide among the bewildered guys. As if asking what he was going to do.
“That kid is messing up our organization right now! Are you just going to leave him alone? Are you just going to sit there and do nothing?”
The response was still lukewarm. The men who had been blankly blinking their eyes reluctantly opened their mouths one by one.
“Then what are we going to do...? What can we do?”
