Chapter 8
Ashley, who had been silently watching his hesitant son, briefly glanced at the watch on his wrist. The unspoken pressure to make a decision quickly was clear—there wasn’t much time left. Grayson knew well that the only person who could indulge his father’s playful side was his omega mother, Koi, the only true love of his father. With this realization, Grayson steeled himself.
“I’ll do it.”
Grayson swore with a tone more confident than ever.
“No matter what happens, I’ll hold on. So please, help me become a firefighter.”
Ashley silently looked at his face, as if checking how serious his son really was.
“...Alright.”
After a moment of silence, Ashley gave his response. A faint trace of cynicism appeared on his previously emotionless face.
“This should be interesting. Let’s see if you can actually do it.”
“Thank you.”
Grayson, unable to suppress his excitement, smiled brightly. This time, Ashley noticed both of his ears twitching. Grayson walked out of the office, his steps light, as if he were about to fly.
This time, it’s real. I can really meet him.
It was the dream he had carried his entire life—to find someone who would love only him, and for him to be able to devote his entire life to that person.
