Valmira summoned me at dawn. Not with words—just a shadowed message that flickered across the Codex: "Come to the Archives. Alone."
The air in the Archive of Whispers was heavier than usual, like the whole tower was holding its breath.
She stood at the far wall, one hand on a scroll that shimmered between visible and not. As I approached, she looked... afraid.
"I found a name," she said. "One that appears in the Codex and in the First Shard."
"Whose?"
She hesitated. "Yours."
My stomach twisted.
