Deidara is gone?
The voices of the shinobi echoed as they exchanged looks of confusion and disbelief.
They had been assigned by Ōnoki to monitor Deidara's actions—just to make sure he wasn't doing anything that could harm Iwagakure.
According to Ōnoki's instructions, checking in every three days was enough. But on just their second visit, they found Deidara's residence completely reduced to rubble by an explosion. And Deidara himself was nowhere to be found.
"Good thing the Tsuchikage had him leave the village beforehand. Otherwise, judging by the power of this explosion, the nearby villagers could've been caught up in it!" One of the shinobi muttered, staring at the ruined ground.
Clearly, he didn't have a good opinion of Deidara.
"Enough complaining! The Tsuchikage ordered us to track Deidara's movements. Now he's vanished—how are we supposed to report this back?" The lead shinobi frowned, his tone serious.
Failing a direct order from the Tsuchikage was a major mistake.
"Relax. Deidara probably noticed the explosion spread too far, so he just relocated," the shinobi who had complained earlier said dismissively. He glanced around before continuing, "Let's search the area. We might find him nearby."
With that, he signaled the group to split up and search.
As he moved out, he still grumbled under his breath, "Seriously, this guy's just a walking disaster. Why does the Tsuchikage care so much about him?"
