"Is something wrong?"
Uchiha Fugaku furrowed his brows when he saw his son, Uchiha Itachi, in his current state. Itachi had never shown such a lapse in composure before. Something must have happened.
"Yes, something is wrong!" Uchiha Itachi said, still looking emotionless and calm, staring at Fugaku.
Uchiha Fugaku's frown deepened, and a feeling of unease rose in his heart. Something felt off, and he couldn't shake the feeling.
"Sasuke, go rest. I need to talk to your brother," Fugaku said, without waiting for Sasuke's response. He led Itachi directly to his study.
Once they were seated, Fugaku looked at his still-standing son and finally asked, "Tell me, what happened?"
Fugaku's unease grew stronger as he looked at Itachi, who seemed to be in a state of numbness. His gut told him this was serious, but he almost didn't want to hear the truth.
But his instincts told him it was important.
"Itachi," Fugaku said gently, "please, tell me."
"Itachi took a deep breath and finally spoke the words that made Fugaku's blood run cold.
"Shisui... committed suicide."
