The Beautiful Boss's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 363

Zheng Sanpao was somewhat afraid of his police son, glanced at him, picked up the hat on the kang and put it on his head. He wrapped himself in a cotton jacket, and despite feeling somewhat cold, he wound a scarf around his neck. It wasn’t until Zheng Sanpao left the house that Zheng Dazhi moved, glanced at the Bodhisattva statue in the living room which exuded a serene and wise aura, enshrouded by the incense smoke as if cloaked in an ethereal mist.

Almost as if possessed, as Zheng Dazhi reached the entrance of the living room, he slowly stepped back again, retreating under the gaze of the Bodhisattva; anyone would be shocked to see this.

He lit three incense sticks and offered them.

The glowing ember at the tip of the incense flickered faintly, seemingly whispering something. Zheng Dazhi was momentarily captivated, nurturing a fleeting thought of dedicating himself to Buddhism and escaping the suffering of the secular world. But it was just a moment before he was snapped back to reality, back to his usual state of exhaustive contemplation. Abruptly, his face soured,

"I trust you! Trusting you makes me a fool!"

Unsympathetically, he harshly pulled out the incense sticks he had just offered, and upon leaving the house, he casually threw them into the snow pile at the corner of the wall.

Entering the backyard, Zheng Dazhi went into his own room, turned on the light; there was a bed, a table, and next to the bed, a small cabinet with three drawers holding some tobacco, alcohol, and some money.

He didn’t lie down. Instead, Zheng Dazhi exited his room and went to the room that had been burglarized half a month ago.
