Chapter 62: Deerheart’s Attack [4]
On the outskirts of the academy in an area paved with obsidian tiles, the sky was still tinged with purple and death still lingered over the heads of the countless teachers and students.
At the very edge of a slime-infested alleyway, where blood and slime clung to the walls like roots to the earth, Neko-sensei stood among three teachers as they came to an abrupt halt.
The sounds of wailing and cries were still very much audible from the distance they stood from the academy.
Neko-sensei gritted her teeth, fury burning in her emerald eyes, then it gleamed brightly as she began channeling mana through her bloodstream.
Professor Kelvin looked at her then sighed. In an instant, his body began to harden as an outer shell made of stainless steel encased him, making him look like some kind of futuristic robot.
He slicked his hair back and stood beside Neko-sensei.
"So Lisa, what’s the plan? I doubt whatever’s lurking in there is going to be friendly."
Neko-sensei gave him a glance, her expression unreadable. She raised her hand rather slowly and snapped her fingers.
The sound was sharp, not the kind that would send physical tremors but the kind that shakes the soul.
The whole world seemed to fall silent as a golden-glowing zone enveloped the entire alleyway.
With another snap of her fingers, all the teachers that were with her, including herself, teleported into the inner part of the obsidian alleyway.
