Chapter 22. Undressing an NPC
Served a hot bowl of his favorite ramen noodles—ones that had cost him a fortune in coins—Shin devoured them eagerly, as if he hadn't eaten in weeks. Technically, he hadn't tasted food this good in days.
After finishing, he stepped out of the pub to explore this Safe Zone again. But he didn't plan to wander far. He was waiting for the hostess's shift to end.
While exploring, he learned something that shifted his view of this so-called haven and how it was larger than he thought. It was divided into three tiers. The low class, where he currently resided, was considered ordinary. The middle class was rumored to be better in every way. And then there was the high class, a zone believed by bar-goers to house only the rich, elites, and high-status individuals like government officials and ministers. Some patrons even suspected that the world governments were behind the Global System Apocalypse. After all, none of them were seen out struggling to survive. If survival depended on leveling up and world currency was obsolete, they all should have been no different from commoners. But clearly, they still wielded power—safely tucked into high-class Safe Zones. Some believed that the system was introduced to reduce the population of people on earth as the resources had been starting to become insufficient for everyone in the world. God only knew what kind of fun these rich, power-wielding bastards were having there.
As he soaked in the gossip, Shin realized it was finally time to meet the hostess from the Pleasure Hub. He turned and made his way back to the club.
And as luck would have it, he found her just exiting the club, purse in hand. No longer naked, she wore a tight, strapless black dress that hugged her breasts snugly. A zipper ran from the cleavage line all the way down to just above her knees.
She smiled at him. "You've waited...?"
Shin nodded. "Wouldn't want to miss my chance."
She was stunning—no doubt. But Shin knew exactly why he was doing this. He wanted her skills. And if he could have a little fun while absorbing them, why not? The chance to sleep with a gorgeous woman sent a wave of anticipation coursing through him. Like most guys his age, he'd only ever seen such perfection in porn videos, smutty magazines stashed under his bed, or lewd games he played into the night.
But now... the world had become one of those games.
