Chapter 425: Arc 6, - 41: Blurring of the Heart

"What?" Jotou swung open the door, rubbing her palm over an eye—only for her expression to change. Her brows knitted and she examined the drowsy figure in front of her.
It was Hotaru. Her hand was still flat against the door from the last knock she made and her head hung low, drifting from side to side. With an audible gulp, she tilted her head back and managed to face Jotou with larger than usual pupils.
One of Jotou’s eyebrows raised, "Can I help you with something...?"
"Oh, I need sssomething, really reawlly badly," she said with a woozy fanged smile and multiple pauses in between.
Jotou blinked a few times till she felt a throbbing in her forehead, "Yeah, I’m not a big fan of people knocking on my door drunk, so hopefully you find what you need on your own," she began to close the door.
"People? I’m not jussst people," Hotaru lumbered forward and stuck her foot through the gap. "Don’t just leave me out hereee, all alone and cold," she whinged with her face squished against the doorframe.
The blonde’s face contorted and she clenched her fists at the same time she pouted. Jotou sighed, "You’re not cute," she opened up the door and took the redhead by the arm to let her in before shutting the door.
Hotaru smiled deliriously and spun around with her arms out. "I love youuu," her tail wagged before- "Ugh," she fell on her rear end, hitting the base of her tail. The pain would probably register in the morning...
Jotou narrowed her eyes and yanked Hotaru up onto her feet, "Don’t say that right now," she led her to sit on the bed. She poured a glass of water from a pitcher on the nightstand and offered it to the redhead, "You need to sober up."
"I need know what neeed- Dnguhmm."
Jotou put the glass of water against her lips, "The hell did you get wasted for?"
