Chapter 387: Arc 6, - 3: Grand Proclamation
Dust cleared way for the drake to come into view. Screams of terror were drowned out by the quaking building and gunshots. While bullets barely made a scratch, one purplish bullet seemed to pierce its scales.
One that was fired off from a bronze-gold pistol, though it did nothing against the gigantic reptile’s hide. Not like Kazuo was aiming for it in the first place; the small ring of purple light on his gun went dim and began reforming.
He grunted, "Coates those guns aren’t gonna do much, focus on evacuating." He aimed his pistol down and rushed out of the row of seats.
Commissioner Coates had his hand up to his mouth as he coughed out, "Escort everyone out, you are not to engage the, the dragon!"
Following that order, the police retreated and attempted to pull anyone out with them. However, many attendees stood frozen and in shock as the dragon lifted its head and eyed down its quarry.
Many more were injured and relied on the shoulder of another while the rumbling settled and it was now apparent where Ambrose went in the chaos.
In between two curling horns of black, on top of the dragon’s head walked a man still in handcuffs and with a composed smile. "Dear citizens of Burnetrout; for long you thought we had forsaken you."
His voice magically echoed throughout the courthouse for all to hear. The dragon landed one enormous claw onto the crushed jury stands and attempted to free its other claw that had been wedged into the back wall.
Its entire body was slanting downwards and its neck practically stuck in the ceiling as rubble fell to its movements. Jotou wiped her face of dust and glared up with her armite blade out of its sheath.
Fumeko blinked out into the air and into the aisle between the seats, while Hotaru and Asobi got back up. All were stunned by the creature before them, except the four who were still a bit out of sorts by its mere presence.
Even after having seen a gigantic velatos before, it paled in comparison; if this was the size of the head... Imagination painted a good enough picture.
As the GAS stumbled and made their way to guard the grand alderman, it appeared that Lady Pinberry was the only one completely unfazed by the display; she stared down the drake’s gaze with her orangish-crimson eyes as it was freeing itself.
