Chapter 191: Arc 4, Act I, - 36: The Letter
The guests made their way in, alongside Arabella just as the first rain drops hit the bricks outside. "Thank you so much for hosting us your majesty."
"It was the least I could do," Daiyu elbowed Hotaru forward, in hopes of seeing what she could do.
Hotaru took a step and glanced at them, "Uhm, we will you require you to stay here till the matters of this letter are resolved.
If anything occurs that may endanger the princess, you will be held accountable. This includes any sort of device or enchantment that may be embedded into the envelope you have provided."
"But, we are simply the messengers, we were forced to do so, you must understand," the woman’s eyes widened.
"Yes, and you will be treated as a messenger. We will also be requiring the note that was sent to you personally with the orders that forced you to deliver this letter," the reds of her ears and tail spiked.
The mother and son gulped and sweat went down the son’s brow. "Uh, yes we will, I apologize," she twisted her head to Hotaru, "I have not had the pleasure of being introduced to you..."
"This is Lady Hotaru Kinoshita, my second royal advisor," Daiyu held a half-cocked grin.
Fumeko cocked a brow, looking up at Jotou standing next to her. Asobi’s eyes began to sparkle as she gasped and Feyan’s eyes widened just as his brows knitted.
"Of course," Lady Calish bowed alongside the other two.
"Your majesty," the son opened his mouth and kneeled, "We were not exactly-" His mother glared to him. "-forced to send the letter, but we did, as we had accepted the sum...
We deeply apologize for lying in such a way and I hope you will forgive us. We did however, presume if we did not follow through, we would have not gotten off lightly. Please forgive us," he still got it out.
