Chapter 101: Arc 3, - 11: A New Day
Her fingers shivered a smidgen—her jaw hung staring at the brunette across the room. Who mirrored the blonde’s face of confusion and distraught...
"No, no," Jotou absentmindedly verbalized. "That wasn’t a dream... it can’t be a dream," her narrowed eyes leaked tears drop by drop—the nails on her fingers were long again.
"What can’t be a dream?" Fumeko blinked next to Jotou’s bed, in the pinafore she went to sleep with, "Did you have a nightmare?"
Jotou stared at Fumeko, like she was staring at a dead woman who came back to life. "Meko!" she leapt to hug her—her arms nearly squeezed the life out of her.
"Hey-! Hey... W-what happened?" Fumeko gently petted the golden hair. Jotou hung at the edge of the bed, holding onto Fumeko for dear life as she panted out the cries.
"Fumeko..." Jotou whimpered.
The corners of the brunette’s lips curled up, "Well, I knew you had feelings for me too, but I didn’t know you liked me this much. Can’t believe I was ever afraid to confess- I mean, who could deny me?"
Jotou shook her head against the pinafore, wiping the tears, "Keep being arrogant, please keep being smug, please keep talking detective," laughter snivelled out.
"You would’ve been sarcastic by now..." Fumeko held Jotou’s chin and pushed it back, "No smart-ass comebacks?" her brows furrowed.
Jotou faced up, still sat as Fumeko barely stood above her with her short stature. She stared, Fumeko’s palm still on her cheek... It was a better sight than a bullet through her skull...
The brunette’s eyes softened, "Are you, okay?" concern and sympathy was a rare look on Fumeko, but Jotou couldn’t care less. "Jotou," Fumeko called again. The blonde’s neck and hands had broken out in a cold sweat. "Talk to me."
Jotou placed a hand on her own chest, feeling her heartbeat skipping every now and again, "I’m... I’m fine right now..."
