Ethan stood between Selene and Isabelle, his stance relaxed but his expression sharp.
Lightning crackled around Isabelle’s hands, illuminating the cave with flickers of blue and white.
She wore a smirk that was equal parts confidence and cruelty, her curls wild and her eyes filled with challenge.
"Run!"
Ethan said, his voice steady.
He didn’t take his eyes off Isabelle, but his hand moved behind him, a silent gesture urging Selene to go.
Selene hesitated.
Her instincts screamed at her to stay, to help him, but logic won over.
Ethan was right—she would only hold him back. But that didn’t mean she’d leave him without support.
"I will support you from afar. Make sure you come back safe."
Selene told him before she added Ethan to her Amplify spot and then ran.
