Chapter 51: Ch 51: Developing the Skills- Part 1
The morning sunlight streamed through the windows as the scent of breakfast filled the air.
A day had passed since the dungeon raid, and the tense atmosphere that had lingered among the group had finally settled.
Everyone seemed more at ease, though traces of exhaustion still clung to them.
Thankfully, the smell that Selene and Zara had acquired in the dungeon had washed off and they smelled normal again. That cold bath had been well-worth it.
Selene sipped her tea as she listened to the muffled sound of the news playing on a nearby tablet.
The broadcaster’s voice carried a grim tone as he spoke about the worsening state of the world—the increasing dungeon breakouts, the government’s inability to maintain order, and how humanity’s survival looked bleak.
With the rise of the dungeons, the internet had all but fallen in usage. Most countries had put a ban on it to not spread more panic.
As a result, traditional T.V. was the only way to get any news...until the ’internet-like’ feature of the system would be realized.
So far, only Selene, Ethan, Zara and Orion seemed to know that this existed.
"Hope is running out! Is this the end for humanity? Will our race be able to survive this?"
The news anchor declared, his voice edged with despair. His questions made anyone feel depressed.
