Chapter 5: Size matters
The festival was in full swing, and Allen honestly wasn’t sure whether he’d stumbled into a celebration... or a live-action adult movie with a fantasy setting.
Fina tugged at his arm with a grin. "This way! The real fun’s just starting."
As they walked, the night air was thick with firelight, sweat, and sounds that made Allen’s ears perk like a curious squirrel.
"Ahhn~! Yes~!"
"Don’t stop~! Right there, nghhh~!"
"Ooooh~! Gods! R-right in my... mmmh~!"
Allen’s eyes darted around like a man in a minefield. Every bush, every tree, every hay bale seemed to have some couple going at it with reckless abandon.
"I feel like I’m in a very weird version of Animal Planet," he muttered.
Fina giggled. "Relax. It’s just the Mating Chase! Biggest event of the year. Everyone joins in—or watches!"
"Watches?!" Allen blinked. "What is this, the fantasy world’s version of reality TV?!"
Before Fina could answer, a new wave of moaning filled the air.
