Chapter 148: When the Past Finally Catches Up
Elder Alderic personally escorted Ronan and his pack back to Northbridge’s port. When they arrived, dozens of hunters from the Nocturnal Order were already waiting.
Since Ronan had broken the laws of both the human world and the supernatural world, Elder Alderic planned to work together with the human government to decide Ronan’s punishment.
"Don’t worry," Elder Alderic said to Damon and Charlotte, his voice calm and firm. "After this, he won’t be able to see the light again. His punishment might even last longer than his lifespan as a werewolf."
Charlotte’s eyes shifted toward Ronan, who was being shoved forward by several hunters. He looked annoyed. His hands were locked with special cuffs, ones made to weaken the strength of supernatural beings.
However, somehow Ronan didn’t look sad at all when he saw Julian’s head separated from his body.
If anything, Ronan looked more angry and disappointed rather than sad. At that moment, Charlotte was certain that he had never truly valued his family that much, not even his son, whom he had always been so proud of.
In the end, Julian had only been his father’s pawn, and once he was no longer useful, Ronan stopped caring completely.
"That man is seriously sick in the head," Elder Alderic muttered.
Damon’s jaw tightened. "Only a madman could do so many cruel experiments and still feel no guilt."
He then reached out his hand to the Elder. "Thank you for coming to us."
