Chapter 61: Forbidden Drug
They were all gathered in the living room, awaiting Louis’ explanation. His face looked grim, as if he had just witnessed something inexplicable.
Perhaps that was the case.
"Well, I haven’t had a chance to examine his blood in the lab yet," Louis began, his voice steady but carrying an edge of concern. "But after checking his body, I found a few things that were seriously off. Let’s just say, I can make an educated guess about what could have caused the rogue werewolf to end up like this."
So, the rogue werewolf had indeed died.
Charlotte didn’t want him to hurt anyone else, but if his behavior had been influenced by something else, she couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for him.
"Tell me," Damon said, his tone firm, urging Louis to continue.
Louis took a deep breath, his eyes briefly closing as he recalled the details. "This is just a theory, so don’t take it as gospel. About a week ago, paramedics brought someone into the ER. They got a report from a passerby who said they found a man unconscious under a bridge with an injured leg."
"The paramedics thought it was a gunshot wound at first, but the skin and flesh on his leg looked ... melted, like molten iron. So, they rushed him to my hospital."
He paused for a moment, recalling what the doctor on duty had told him. "When they arrived, part of the flesh on his leg had already melted away. The doctor could remove the bullet easily because the tissue had opened up so much."
"It was a silver bullet," Louis confirmed quietly.
Diana’s eyes widened, her mind connecting the dots. "Wait... that must be the one who escaped from the hunters! They shot him with a silver bullet, but we couldn’t track him down. Who knew he ended up in the hospital? But ... what happened to him after that?"
