Chapter 53: Law and Bepo Rescue
High above the ocean, in the heavenly spires of the Celestial Garden Castle, King Jessie sat quietly, overlooking the bustling kingdom below. Through the arched windows, he could see the endless labor of progress—seawalls rising strong, markets being shaped, ships being forged. The island hummed with activity, but Jessie felt a familiar sense of stillness settle around him.
"Another peaceful day," he murmured, resting his chin on his hand, a small sigh escaping his lips.
Suddenly, a den den mushi on his desk began to shake and let out a cheerful "bru bru bru." Its snail face perked up with a goofy smile. Jessie blinked, then reached forward and picked up the receiver.
"Yo, Captain! We're back!" came Vash's voice, loud and lively through the line.
Jessie's lips tugged into a rare smile. "Welcome back," he said simply, standing from his chair.
Truth be told, he was bored. Even in a kingdom of unlimited resources and godlike technology, ruling from above had its quiet moments. So, without hesitation, Jessie stepped out onto the open sky balcony.
With a flex of will and a spark of Haki, he flew down, a blur of wind and momentum as he descended from the heavens like a meteor, cape billowing behind him.
Down by the eastern shore of Voidreign, a sleek vessel came into view—one without any royal markings, bearing the familiar silhouettes of Vash, Meruem, and the ever-calm Black-Eye Panda.
The ship slowed to a graceful halt, its hull slicing through the waves like a blade.
Vash waved as Jessie approached. "Oi, Captain! You wouldn't believe the fun we had."
Jessie landed softly on the dock beside them, nodding with that calm, kingly composure. "I believe it. You always find chaos wherever you go."
