Chapter 13: Check-In Amazon Lily
Jessie sat on the deck of the Voidreign, lost in thought. His crew had proven themselves once again during the chaos on Amazon Lily. Kuina had shown immense growth, both in strength and in her resolve to become the world's greatest swordswoman. Uta, though young, had her own charm and surprising power, and Vash the Stampede had kept the enemy distracted with his unpredictable fighting style. Yet, amidst the victories, Jessie couldn't help but wonder how to maintain control over the two Seraphim.
He was certain that they were formidable opponents, but the Seraphim's loyalty was still something he had to manage. How would he make them obedient? It was a challenge he wasn't used to. His thoughts were interrupted by a sudden *DING* in his mind, a familiar sound that he had come to recognize as the system's voice.
"Do you wish to check-in?" the system asked.
Jessie, momentarily startled, realized that he had almost forgotten about the system's rewards. He had been so wrapped up in the battles and his crew's progress that he hadn't thought to claim any of the rewards he had earned.
"Check-in," Jessie said, tapping his fingers against the armrest of his chair, his curiosity piqued.
The system responded, and before Jessie's eyes, a set of notifications appeared, glowing bright in his mind's eye.
