Chapter 65: Attractions.
As the night went on, I must have had a bit too much to drink because I was definitely feeling a little tipsy. Then again, almost everyone else was too, and honestly? We deserved it. Weeks and weeks of non-stop work, grinding without a single real break—this was long overdue.
Selena was still with me, effortlessly composed despite the drinks. We kept talking, the conversation flowing easily, laughter coming naturally. Everything was going great—until she suddenly leaned in close, her breath warm against my ear.
"How about we take this party back to your place?"
My eyes widened.
I wasn’t expecting that. At all.
She was gorgeous, and if I was being honest, I hadn’t even considered the possibility of this happening tonight. But was I about to pass up the chance?
Yeah, not a chance.
For a second, I just looked at her, my brain working overtime to process what she’d just said. Was she serious? Or was she just messing with me? But the way she held my gaze, the slight, knowing smile on her lips—I knew she wasn’t joking.
I swallowed, suddenly hyper-aware of how close we were. "You sure about that?" I asked, keeping my voice light, but inside, my heart was hammering.
She tilted her head slightly, amused. "Do I look like someone who says things she doesn’t mean?"
I chuckled, shaking my head. "Not at all."
