Chapter 60: Ready to Leave.
Faith’s eyes landed on the coffee cup sitting on the table again.
"Is that Ladi’s?" she asked, looking up at Eric.
Eric barely hesitated. "Nah, that’s mine. Why?"
Abby and Faith exchanged a glance.
"Right... You just decided not to finish your coffee from yesterday and today, and they seem to be in the same level" Faith said slowly, her eyes narrowing slightly.
Eric shrugged. "And? Maybe I felt like drinking it that way today."
Abby sighed. "Eric, please. If you know something, just tell us. We’re not here to fight, we just want to know if he’s okay."
Faith nodded. "We don’t need details. We just need to hear that he’s safe."
Eric rubbed the back of his neck, pretending to think. "Look, I haven’t seen him since Tuesday. But Ladi’s a grown man. You know how he is—he probably just needed some time to clear his head."
Abby didn’t look convinced. "If you do see him... or if he reaches out to you, tell him to call us. Please."
Eric nodded. "Yeah sure. I got you... I’ll call you guys and let you know."
