Chapter 34: Bad things Lurking.
A few minutes passed as we lay side by side, my eyes closed, trying to catch my breath. I felt Abby shift beside me, and when I opened my eyes, she was sitting at the edge of the bed, facing away.
"Is this the part where you ask me what we just did or tell me you didn’t know what you were doing?" I muttered, my voice laced with amusement.
She glanced back at me but didn’t respond immediately. Instead, she crawled back onto the bed, pressed a soft kiss to my lips, then casually tossed her panties onto my face.
"You might wanna hold onto that," she teased, adjusting her dress. "I’ll be back for it."
I pulled the fabric off my face, inhaling its scent before setting it aside. "We won’t get many chances like this, you know."
Abby smirked, placing her hands on her hips. "That’s not a problem, we can always make one." She headed for the door, then paused. "I’ll see you downstairs. And... thank you for this. I needed it."
"Uh... you’re welcome?" I replied, still processing her words as she disappeared down the hall.

I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, my mind racing with how quickly everything was changing. I’d just had sex for the second time today, with a different woman. Something that, until now, had only ever existed in my daydreams and fantasies. And then there was the whole plan with Eric.
"Is this it? Is this how my life changes for the better? Can it really be this easy? There has to be a catch... surely."
All my life, I knew that whenever a series of good things happened to me, something bad was always lurking around the corner. It was just a matter of time.
