The soft chime of the café rang as Arthur stepped inside, his eyes scanning the room to locate Amelia.
As soon as he spotted her, he walked over to the table near the window.
"I’m not late, am I?"
Amelia didn’t even notice him at first, her attention fixed on Cassie, who was speaking to her.
"Oh, you’re back."
Arthur raised an eyebrow. "What are you two talking about so seriously?"
Cassie placed the straw of her drink in her mouth as if to signal him not to ask.
He paused, then nodded. "Okay, I won’t ask."
Amelia smiled. "Thanks."
Arthur sighed. "So, Cassie, are you planning to head straight to the Higher Institution after this?"
Cassie glanced up at him. After a moment, she lowered her gaze back to the cup. "No..." she murmured. "I want to see the world too."
