Her joke came off more saddening than anything, but she played it off with another warm smile.

Jin merely listened.
Xin Ming inhaled deeply before exhaling, mustering up the courage to say, "I love you! I’ve always loved you, ever since that day six years ago when you saved me from a group of wild dogs!"
