Chapter 92: Her Fate
"A nightmare...? Y-Yeah... something like that."
"Huh... I hope you’re doing okay," Noa replied, worried. "Lady Sophia told me to bring you some sweets for helping her earlier."
With those words, she put down a whole box of sweets. It was full to the brim. Raelis knew how good his mother’s cooking was, so when he spotted the sweets, he was able to tell that she was the one who made them all.
Lydia’s eyes widened, then narrowed.
"I’ll... I’ll eat them a bit later. Thank you, Noa," Lydia said softly, dismissing the head maid.
However, Noa wasn’t having it. She sat down beside Lydia and extended her hand, tapping Lydia over the head a couple of times.
"Look, nightmare or not, you mustn’t let it get you down. Despite our current state, we are Varekan maids. I am honored to be here, and I truly hope you understand what honor we’ve been given," Noa said, narrowing her eyes.
"So I truly wish you do not see this position as a punishment. Rather, see it as something that might bear fruit in the future, if that is what you desire."
Lydia stared at her for a few moments, unsure of what to say.
But she didn’t have to say anything, as Noa simply picked out a single bagel from the box, then brought it up to Lydia’s mouth, dangling it.
