Chapter 50
BELLA POV
The packhouse had been so quiet for days. My mate had been gone for four days now out looking for Tessa with Tyler and I had nothing to do but have nightmares about the situation or pace around the house and try to clean every surface of the packhouse. Because I felt completely useless.
I decided to get on the computer and I hacked onto the dark web and I started reading up about Katherine. Everything that everyone knew about her. And there was a lot. Apparently she had been around for a long time. A lot longer than Angelo and his siblings. And she never left a good impression on anyone by the looks of it.
An entire village burnt in England about 300 years ago that Katherine was responsible for. 200 human lives perished that night. Another time she was accused of witch craft and was almost killed in the witch trial of the 1700’s but managed to escape.
She was accused of being a vampire in the 1800’s and was captured but again, she escaped.
She loved the finer things in life. She would never settle for second best. She always needed the best. The best house, the best clothes, the best men. That’s usually what got her into so much trouble.
But there’s nothing printed about her in the last couple of years. So there’s absolutely no indication of where she might be. Except that she was breaking the vampire council rules at the moment by consorting with Rogue vampires. She was being hunted by the vampire council for questioning because our species weren’t really allowed to spend time together. When we did, it usually ended badly. So she was definitely hiding.
She was hiding from the vampire council and now from our pack and every other pack in this area. Every pack that knew Tessa and wanted to get her back. She was the most wanted vampire in the world at the moment. Not that she would probably even care. From what I saw when she took Tessa that night, she loves the attention. She’s probably sitting back in some big old mansion laughing at all of us while torturing Tessa.
I slammed the computer shut and I put my head in my hands and as much as I tried not to, I couldn’t help the tears that were starting to run down my face. And then I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Tyler will get her back. There’s no way that he’s ever going to stop looking." Naomi says.
"I know that. But not having her around is just weird to me. She’s my best friend and I just stood there and watched them carry her away. There was nothing I could do." I sobbed out and Naomi put her arm around me.
"That’s right. There was nothing that you could do. We all saw the footage. She shot Tessa right in front of you. There’s no telling what she would have done if you tried to stop her. She would have killed you and then Tessa would be the one that is sitting here broken." Naomi explained.
