Tyler and I were still in our wolf forms when that witch turned to look directly at me with blackened eyes and hissed ’Tesssssa.’ Almost like she was calling to me. It was the same voice that I heard the other times. She was the one doing this. But why was a witch messing around with me.
Tyler jumped in front of me and crouched into an attack position and bared his teeth at her. Trying to protect me.
’Tyler, don’t. She can’t cross the boarder. That’s why she hasn’t done it yet.’ I mind linked him.
’How do you know that?’ He asked.
’I can feel it. There’s a shield around the territory keeping her out.’ I say.
’Who the fuck put a shield up?’ He asked.
"Your mother did." The witch replied. Holy fuck, she could hear our thoughts. We were so fucked right now.
’My mother wasn’t a witch.’ I say.
"No. But she was friends with one. And the shield isn’t around your territory. Not technically. It’s around Tessa. Whatever territory she’s in, the shield is around." The witch says.
’So, you can’t hurt her then.’ Tyler says relieved.
"I wouldn’t say that." She smirked. When suddenly the roots from the trees near us started snaking up from the ground and coming closer to us. We backed away from them and they started coming after us.
We turned to run back to the packhouse, to get out of the forest but every tree we had to dodge as the roots were coming up from the ground.
