Sleep, as it turned out, was harder to catch than a fly in a hurricane.
Ren lay on his back with both arms behind his head, staring at the ceiling like it had just offended him.
The room was dark and silent, yet his mind was racing like a Formula One car on a sugar high.
Tonight's sleep wasn't just any regular sleep. It was the sleep. The sleep when his Mental Sea would finish evolving after 24 long hours of anticipation, anxiety, and restless pacing.
It was like waiting for a mysterious Christmas present, except the box could possibly explode or change his entire brain forever!
He knew it would complete its evolution inside the forge in just a few hours, but the excitement made him jittery.
His fingers kept twitching, and his thoughts refused to slow down. As a scientist in his past life, this kind of situation was hellish.
Ren hated walking into the unknown without a full data report. The worst part? He'd chosen the evolution path simply based on its name!
It had sounded fancy and promising, but there had been zero documentation on it. So, as much as he was excited... a big chunk of him was nervous as hell.
Finally, to force his brain to stop obsessing, Ren activated an old calming trick from his past life.
It began with controlled breathing, mental focus on a single image, and repeating the number "seven" like it was a magical lullaby.
